Reignition: You've Done the Inner Work, Now What?

A reflection on what it’s actually like to live inside the arc you worked so hard to reach.

I have done the Reignition arc 90-day journey twice now. I find it almost challenging in its own way, because while under Release you are trying to let go and make sense of difficult issues, in Reignition you are living intentionally in the joy of a season you have earned and worked so hard to get to. Which is a challenge of its own. We are so used to looking outside for answers, and here Reignition forces you to look within and ask: what will I choose today, intentionally, from a place of fullness? From a place of joy and peace.

The test no one warns you about

I think the biggest misconception is always that you are working so hard to refine yourself, to heal, to be in a better place. But once you actually arrive here, baby, it’s a very real test of why you wanted that for yourself, and how much you meant it. Because now, pointless drama is not something you’re available for. Pointless activities and ways of being just don’t cut it for your soul anymore.

In my experience it was quite slow at first. And having never experienced this before, it genuinely felt like: wait, this is hard. One of my prompts, one I remember distinctly, was “How will you bring joy to your day today?” And I remember looking at it and thinking, should I google this? Who’s going to tell me what ways I can bring joy into my life today, not this week, a random Tuesday where I was just at home with my toddler.

A random Tuesday, and the prompt that stumped me

It doesn’t get more intentional than that. Slowing down to ask, in my mundane day, how will I choose joy? I started to realize just how much the world had polluted my expectation of joy. It’s not a huge firework of an emotion. It’s actually much slower, and more grounded. I had to ask myself: how am I going through my day missing all the ways it could actually be joyful?

That day, it looked like doing one thing completely different from what I’d ever done: pushing the table aside and laying the playmat in the middle of my living room, and enjoying the sun. Truly just marveling at how the globe, millions of miles away, was warming me on a chilly morning. And that one moment, after it was over, truly felt like something. I chose to slow down and appreciate it. In the days that followed, it was as simple as doing one thing I knew would bring me satisfaction, that I’d told myself I had no time for, or kept finding excuses not to do.

Inner work isn’t a destination

So as much as people, myself included, will give you an earful about inner work, it’s not a destination. Don’t make it one. It’s a place where you shift gears for your life, intentionally. Some will choose fast, some will choose slow. But it is you deciding, for once, from your deepest depths. Not consulting Google. Not considering anyone else but you.

FAQ

What does it mean to live intentionally? Living intentionally means choosing your actions deliberately, from a place of clarity or fullness, rather than defaulting to autopilot, outside expectation, or whatever’s loudest in the moment. It’s less about doing more and more about choosing on purpose.
